Know what I'm saying?: People getting offended by Paul Bearer saying FAGGOT during Sheer Terror's set
…I don’t know? Maybe humans treating other humans like fucking humans? Dude is a classless scumbag. This is the problem I have with bands like Sheer Terror and Blood for Blood. If you have a problem with homosexuals or females, I have a problem with you.
I’m confused as to why…
Guess what, dude? If you use the word, you support it. Period.
what I meant was I don’t fully support him going on stage and using the word, and if I was in a band I wouldn’t use the word on stage. But it’s Sheer Terror and I’m not gonna bug out about it. /End discussion
But you find humor in other people bugging out about it, as if for some reason it’s ok because it’s the mighty Paul Bearer/Sheer Terror. Excuses, excuses.
Shit like this is how hardcore alienates participants and is viewed as a pack of ignorant jocks in a lot of cases. Instead of standing up and voicing that this is unacceptable, you choose to laugh at those who do. That’s fucking sad.
my belief is no one has any right to tell anyone what they can or cannot say, no matter what it is. I’m just surprised that people are truly making a big deal about it cause if anyone has listened to sheer terror before, then they should have known what to expect. My guess is people who got offended have never heard sheer terror before. Now if people want to stand up for “what is right” then by all means, go for it. I only find it funny because it figures that this would happen during a sheer terror show because I have been listening to them and know how he is. Should I be surprised? Not really. And by standing up for it, people are just bitching on the b9 board or on twitter about it and even saying “what right does he have since they covered the cure?” I’d like to see how many of these people are trying to do something.
I have no problem with gay people and you know me well enough to know I’m not a homophobic, or prejudice and I have known a few gay people and have gotten along with every single one of them. I admit in having a dirty mouth and use the word and as well as other words that I shouldn’t say to certain people. If people just hate it, don’t go see sheer terror the next time they play. Don’t listen to sheer terror, then leave it at that. People should also realize that in America, people have the right to say what they want. But it’s also not like he was talking about how much he hates gay people and wishing bad things upon them. He just simply used the word. But again I’m just not gonna make a huge deal about him using the word on stage.
